Democratic Party Inches Ever So Close To Election Disaster
Florida Democrats have abandoned plans to hold a "do over" presidential primary while Democrats in Michigan are reviewing plans for a June "do over."
Meanwhile, Florida Democratic party chairwoman Karen Thurman says the FLA party's decision does NOT mean there won't be representation for Florida at the national convention.
".. This doesn't mean that Democrats are giving up on Florida voters. It means that a solution will have to come from the DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee, which is scheduled to meet again in April."The DNC has refused to seat delegates from the two states after they violated party rules by moving their primary dates up. However, Hillary Clinton won both states and her campaign continues to float the idea of seating "her" delegates.
While I understand why the two states in question would fight to have representation at the convention, the national leaders of the party need to think globally about their decision. As I've contended repeatedly, Obama supporters are intensely invested in their man's candidacy--and some last minute shenanigans by the Clinton campaign will dispirit a huge portion of their base.
By the way, if you are wondering why a Republican is giving advice nationally to the Democrats: I actually continue to believe that Hillary will pull out the win at the last second--and then say hello to President McCain!

I think Obama has a good base. I am an independant and will probably only vote for democrats in the presidential and congressional elections (my man Fallon), but I do have to agree with you, is kinda odd that all of the sudden when Hillary needs the delegates they are hers for the taking.
I liked McCain, I was one of the 101 people that straw polled for him in Ames:)! But that was because of his stance against torture, and now he is flip flopping, so he lost my vote.
Nice Post, keep up the good work!
