My friends know that I was thrilled by
yesterday's decision from Judge Vaughn Walker, in which Judge Walker found California's ban on same-sex marriages unconstitutional. Today, I enjoyed
Dahlia Lithwick's analysis in Slate and
John Schwartz's in the New York Times. Both pieces remind us that this fight is far from over--but there is reason for optimism (and it's not all because of
newly-confirmed Justice Kagan).

Kagan did say under oath that there was no constitutional right for gay marriage.
I still predict she'll go back on that and SCOTUS will overturn the ruling 5-4.
