December Doesn't Exist And Neither Do You

Constant readers of the blog know I like to mix and match Internet news with a similar theme.

So here's "food" for thought (pun intended) as you head into this holiday season:   Your family might not actually exist.

NPR reports that it is possible that a highly-advanced civilization has created a highly-advanced computer reality in which we all live with simulated ancestry.  Man, will that make my genealogist-wife angry!

The theory is that a civilization has already reached a level of advancement in technology that allows it to build "super-duper computers with fully conscious simulated minds living inside simulated realities."  Could be possible...does your Sim think it is alive?

If anyone has done such a thing, it's probably Google.  They've just created a new app that lets stressed out shoppers skip December.

You need to read Stephen King's "Under the Dome." It's an interesting take on a similar theory.
